

Dr. Melvin A. Shiffman received his M.D from Northwestern University School of Medicine in 1957 and his J.D. from Western State University College of Law in 1976.
He has been practicing in the field of general surgery, oncologic surgery, reconstructive, and cosmetic surgery over the past 40 years.
He has been a medical legal consultant in medical malpractice, personal injury, and medical board problems since 1976. He has written over 320 papers on cancer, cosmetic surgery, and medical legal problems and has been author or editor of at least 8 books including “Ethics in Forensic Science and Medicine,”“Medical Malpractice: Handling General Surgery Case,” ”Attorneys Guide to Oncology Cases,”“Autologous Fat Transplantation,”“Aesthetic Surgery of the Abdominal Wall,”“Medical Jurisprudence for the Physician, Surgeon, and Office Staff,” “1997 Wiley Medical Malpractice Update,”and “Liposuction: Principles and Practice.”
He has been editor of several cosmetic surgery journals over the past 10 years. He is presently Chairman of the Department of Surgery, Tustin Hospital and Medical Center, Tustin California
